LAHORE – Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) stalwart Ahsan Iqbal landsin trouble over his recent ‘anti-judiciary remarks’.
A contempt of court petition has been filed against him in the Lahore HighCourt (LHC).
The petition states the former interior minister’s recent statement on thesuspension of former premier Nawaz Sharif’s jail sentence falls within theambit of the contempt of court.
It says a bench of the high court had earlier discharged a contempt ofcourt notice against the former federal minister while instructing him toremain cautious in this regard in future. However, he ignored itsinstruction.
The petition pleads the court to initiate contempt of court proceedingsagainst the PML-N leader.
