International Day of UN Peacekeepers was observed on Monday across the world, with the theme, “Investing in Peace Around the World.”

The Day offers a chance to pay tribute to the contributions of uniformed and civilian personnel for peacekeeping.

The United Nations has currently deployed more than one hundred thirteen thousand military, police and civilian personnel in sixteen peacekeeping operations, around the world.
