Customs officials foil bid to smuggle foreign currency worth millions from Pakistan Airport

*PESHAWAR: Customs officials on Sunday foiled a bid to smuggle foreigncurrency worth millions of rupees from Peshawar Bacha Khan Airport.*

Customs officials have recovered 110,000 Saudi Arabian Riyal and 20,000United Arab Emirates Dirham from two passengers. They have arrested boththe passengers.

Airport sources said they were smuggling the foreign currency to Dubai.

On April 27, the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) had arrested a man atJinnah International Airport, Karachi over his alleged involvement in humantrafficking.

The man, identified as Muhammad Bilal, was arrested when he landed at theairport from a Dubai flight.

Bilal was accused of sending a man to Britain by taking Rs 1.7 million,however, he kept his client in Dubai for four months and then sent him backhome.
