MAHARASHTRA: A 35 year old Indian man allegedly killed 14 members of his family including six children with a knife and then commits suicide.
The incident occurred in Thane district of Maharashtra 20 miles away from Mumbai at 2 am
A police spokesman Kabdule said “The attacker, Hasnain Anwar Warekar, hung himself after slitting the throats of all other family members, including his parents.”
The attacker gathered his family for a birthday party at home and drugged them before killing.
The sole survivor of attack, Warekar’s sister survived who is hospitalized.
Kabdule said “We still haven’t been able to speak with the attacker’s 21-year old sister, the lone survivor of the attack, who is in deep trauma at a city hospital.”
The attacker was employed in at a private firm in Mumbai.
A news agency claimed that a property dispute was behind the killing but investigation official claimed that no motive has been triggered so far in the initial investigation.
Investigation official Dumbre said “He worked with a private company in Mumbai. There were no known financial troubles or disputes and now we are hoping that the lone survivor can tell us something about the trigger.”
