ISLAMABAD – Prime Minister Imran Khan Tuesday said the government wasfocussing on Shift Technology to transform the country’s economy andcapitalize huge human resource potential.He emphasized that development in all sectors was dependent on adaptationand use of technology that would ultimately improve governance and benefitthe masses.The Prime Minister was chairing a meeting of Task Force on TechnologyDriven Knowledge Economy here at the PM Office.The meeting was attended by Finance Minister Asad Umar, Planning MinisterMakhdoom Khusro Bakhtiar, IT Minister Dr Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, Advisoron Commerce Abdul Razzak Dawood, Vice Chairman of Task Force Professor DrAtta ur Rehman, Chairman Higher Education Commission (HEC) Dr Tariq Binori,CEO Ignite Yousuf Hussain, representatives of business community andindustrialists and federal secretaries of the ministries concerned.The Prime Minister was briefed on the ways and means, and the strategy topromote technology driven economy with enhanced allocations for highereducation, technical skills development of human resource, promotion ofdigitalization, promotion of AI (Artificial Intelligence) education andskills.Dr Atta ur Rehman made a detailed presentation on transformation towardstechnology driven economy.
