Pakistani cricketers have complained that the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has sidelined them. According to their claims, during these tough times when sports support was needed, it was not provided. Several senior cricketers believe that PCB has left them alone to face all criticism during this challenging period. They did not receive the support and defense they expected.
According to the website "Cricket Pakistan," speaking on this matter, a player mentioned that criticism is natural after a loss, but they are disappointed by the board's behavior, which didn't stand by them as it should have.
Initially, false reports of internal fights among the players were made public. When we expressed our concerns through the manager, it was dismissed with an unnecessary press release.
We just wanted the true facts to come to light. Everyone discusses their issues honestly during meetings, and differences of opinion arise, but there has never been a fight. The player further explained that team decisions are not made by the captain alone because coaches and others are involved, but most of the blame is placed on the captain.
He called PCB's press release "ridiculous" because it mentioned that the team's captain and chief selector had made the World Cup preparation decisions.
The head of PCB's cricket committee, Misbah-ul-Haq, has also distanced himself from the decisions. It seems like if the team doesn't reach the semi-finals, the players will be held responsible. We are being presented as if we fought with the board over contracts, and when we came to India, despite good preparation, we did not perform well. Compatible results have not been achieved yet.
On the other hand, foreign coaches are also not pleased with handling the matters. According to reports, a few months ago, a rotation policy was introduced to give players rest, but when the administration gave the directive of "win at any cost," this policy was abandoned, leading to issues.
Conversely, PCB has expressed doubt about the impact of not supporting the players and has issued a press release asking former cricketers and fans for support, claiming they have always stood by the team.
