ISLAMABAD - The Department of Excise and Taxation has now established an online system that will allow people to pay token taxes for vehicles registered with the ETO in Islamabad.
Now, people will not have to visit the Excise office physically, as they can use the online system and pay the tax which will be received by all branches of the National Bank of Pakistan. In this regard, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) had been inked between the Excise & Taxation Department Islamabad and the NBP in October.
According to the sources at the ETO, owners living across Pakistan will be able pay token taxes online and the department is working on a framework that will allow people to pay property taxes online as well. Property transfer service will also be available online in the coming weeks.
Recently, the government had issued a directive for the general public asking to pay the outstanding Vehicle Token Tax Islamabad before 30th September without any fines. After this, the Islamabad Traffic Police in collaboration with the Excise and Taxation Department Islamabad started action against the people who did not pay token tax.
