Srinagar: In Occupied Kashmir, All Parties Hurriyet Conference (APHC) has urged India to adopt a realistic and political approach to resolve the Kashmir dispute.

The APHC said this during its Executive Council meeting at Hyderpora in Srinagar, which was presided over by Chairman Syed Ali Gilani.

The meeting expressed serious concern over the ill-treatment meted out to Kashmiri detainees in Tihar jail.

Meanwhile, addressing a Nuzool-e-Quran function in Srinagar, today, Syed Ali Gilani said that Hurriyet is not against talks, but they should be meaningful and result-oriented.

The Joint Resistance Leadership in a statement in Srinagar strongly condemned the use of indiscriminate force by Indian troops on worshippers at historical Jamia Masjid, Srinagar.

Dukhtaran-e-Millat and Kashmir Bar Association in their statements also condemned the brutal action of Indian forces against the worshippers. Nearly 60 people including women were wounded, many with pellets, when forces fired inside the Masjid on last Friday.

Meanwhile, complete shutdown was observed in Tral area of Pulwama district to mark the first martyrdom anniversary of mujahid commander Sabzar Ahmad Butt and his associate Faizan Butt.

All shops and other business establishments remained closed while public transport was off the road.

Sabzar and Faizan were martyred by the Indian troops during a cordon and search operation in Baramulla on this day in 2017.
