Afghanistan Parliament Building attacked with rockets by Taliban

KABUL: Afghan Parliament building in Kabul was attacked with rockets by Afghan Taliban.

 

At least three rockets were fired at Parliament building during Parliamentary briefing attended by Afghan Interior Minister and Security officials.

 

No immediate causalities and injuries are reported yet.

 

Afghan Taliban spokesperson Zabihullah Mujahid said “The Mujahideen of the Islamic Emirate fired many  rockets at the parliament building of the Kabul administration and a nearby key check post of the puppet soldiers at Dar-ul-Aman area.”

 

He claimed that  number of security officials have been killed in the strike on military check post near Dar-ul-Aman.

 

Police have launched investigation of the incident.

 

Taliban has boosted their attacks since the NATO withdrawal in 2014 and targeting Afghan security forces mostly.

 

US has sent more troops in Afghanistan which will not participate in the war but provide guidance to Afghan troops to counter Taliban militants.

 

Quadrilateral Contact Group (QCG) is also trying to hold peace talks with Taliban to end 14 years old war in the region.
