PAF pride JF – 17 thunder fighter jet achieved yet another big milestone

RAWALPINDI: Pakistan Aeronautical Complex (PAC) achieved yet anothermilestone when the first batch of dual seat JF-17 aircraft rolled out fromthe PAC Kamra on Friday.

To mark this momentous occasion, a grand ceremony was held at the AircraftManufacturing Factory, Kamra, the PAF spokesman said. Air Chief MarshalMujahid Anwar Khan, Chief of the Air Staff, Pakistan Air Force, was thechief guest on the occasion.

Yao Jing, Ambassador of People’s Republic of China, and Hao Zhaoping,Executive Vice President, Aviation Industries of China (AVIC), alsoattended the ceremony as a guest of honour.

Air Marshal Ahmer Shehzad, Chairman PAC, Kamra, in his welcome addresshighlighted the salient features of the project. Pakistan AeronauticalComplex (PAC) and China National Aero-Technology Import & ExportCorporation (CATIC) also signed an agreement for co-production of Chinesecommercial aircraft.

Highlighting the time-tested friendship between China and Pakistan, theChinese ambassador said the JF-17 is a testimony of Sino-Pak friendship andmutual cooperation.

The air chief congratulated PAC and CATIC on successful accomplishment of2019 production target and completing first eight dual-seat JF-17 aircraftin record time of five months.

He further said that serial production of dual-seat variant is a landmarkdevelopment for JF-17 programme and a true manifestation of everlastingfriendship between both the friendly countries.

He said that JF-17 Thunder is the backbone of PAF, which has been battleproven during operation Swift Retort.

Later in the day, the air chief also inaugurated JF-17 Dual-SeatIntegration facility at the Avionics Production Factory, Kamra.

The facility will enable PAF to integrate avionics and weapon systems ofchoice with JF-17 aircraft, ultimately providing the much-neededself-reliance and operational flexibility.
