ISLAMABAD – Former chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) ShaharyarKhan has hinted at resumption of Pakistan India cricketing ties.
He said that resumption of Indo-Pak cricketing ties is more likely withEhsan Mani leading the board.
Shaharyar, who headed PCB twice — first in 2003 and then in 2014 — believesthat current PCB Chairman is the ideal choice to lead Pakistan’s cricketingaffairs.
He added that chances of a series between Pakistan and India have improvedconsiderably with Mani replacing former chairman Najam Sethi.
“We have been in favour of India versus Pakistan matches and series and Ibelieve that with Mani taking over as chairman of the PCB, there is muchmore chance of Indo-Pak matches and a series is more likely possiblebetween the two rivals now,” said Shaharyar while speaking in an exclusiveinterview with Firstpost.
“Mani is an excellent choice as chairman of the PCB. He is veryexperienced, fair and a competent man who will take Pakistan cricketforward. I have full confidence in Mani and I am certain that he willensure that under his chairmanship, Pakistan cricket will progress andbecome a more professional organisation.”
