PM Imran Khan address at the concluding session of the African Ambassadors Conference in Islamabad

ISLAMABAD – Prime Minister Imran Khan has expressed resolve to extend allpossible cooperation in strengthening institutions, including thejudiciary.

He was addressing the concluding session of the Envoys’ Conference titledEngage Africa in Islamabad today (Thursday).

The Prime Minister said foes of the country were expecting a clash betweeninstitutions in Pakistan, but they should know that the harmony thatinstitutions enjoying today is unprecedented.

He said Pakistan’s democracy has become mature, where institutions do notclash with one another. He said his party, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, has ahistory of twenty-three years’ struggle for independence of the judiciary.He said today anti-Pakistan forces get defeated.

Regarding better engagement with the African countries, the Prime Ministersaid it is time to concentrate our focus on this region and our missionshould utilize its full potential to bring investment and remittances toPakistan and enhance exports.

He said in past we neglected the African continent, which reflects ourmindset. He said now things have changed and PTI-led government is pursuingan independent foreign policy in the best interest of Pakistan.

He emphasized on improving performance of the press attaches abroad forbetter communication to ensure better understanding between Pakistan andother countries. He said government believes in meritocracy without whichno society can progress.

He said the government has appointed an outstanding diplomat Munir Akram torepresent Pakistan in the United Nations.

Imran Khan said now Pakistan is playing a role of reconciliation amongvarious countries like in Afghanistan. He said we have better relationswith all countries, including Iran, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, and Malaysia.
