New PAC Chairman appointed by government and Opposition unanimously after resignation of Shahbaz Sharif

ISLAMABAD – New Public Accounts Committee Chairman appointed by governmentand Opposition unanimously after resignation of Shahbaz Sharif.

Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N) senior leader Rana Tanveer on Thursday hasbeen appointed as chairman of Public Accounts Committee (PAC) on Thursday.

It is pertinent to mention here that Rana Tanveer appointed unopposed PACchairman after the resignation of Opposition Leader in National AssemblyShehbaz Sharif.

During the meeting, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Member of NationalAssembly (MNA) Sardar Nasrullah Khan Dreshak suggested the name of RanaTanveer for the post of committee chairman. Meanwhile, PTI’s Amir Dogar andPakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leader Raja Pervez Ashraf also supportedTanveer’s name.

To the decision, the PML-N leader thanked the participants for believing inhim and said that reforms are required in PAC to improve its performance.The sub-committees of PAC didn’t work as per expectations, he added.
