ISTANBUL: Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu said there was currently “no reason” that Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan couldn’t meet Saudi Crown Prince Mohammad bin Salman on the sidelines of the G20 conference this weekend in Argentina.
The Foreign Minister told German daily Suddeutsche Zeitung that the final decision was up to Erdogan.
He said that he had heard the audio recording of the assassination of Saudi dissident journalist Jamal Khashoggi at the Riyadh consulate in Istanbul.
He said the Turkish government maintains that the assassins did not “act alone” but at the moment there is no definitive proof on who ordered the killing.
