According to international media reports, Israeli forces attempted anincursion into Gaza on Sunday night, which was thwarted by Hamas. Israel’sfirst major ground assault on Gaza ended in failure.
Reportedly, Israel has crossed all boundaries in its bombardment, targetingland, airspace, and the sea, resulting in the worst bombing in recenthistory. The Al-Qassam Brigades have repelled the attackers, and Hamasleader Ali Baraka stated that the militants welcomed the invaders withYassin missiles and Kornet rockets, causing heavy casualties and financiallosses to the invading forces.
According to reports, the Israeli army has acknowledged that it attemptedto infiltrate the Gaza Strip during the night to obtain information aboutIsraeli prisoners of war and to destroy Hamas’s armed positions.
The Israeli army’s spokesman stated that the identities of 222 Israeliprisoners held in Gaza are known, but this is not the final count.
