The collection for dams’ construction recorded a surge after PM Khan on Sep7 addressed the nation, appealing them –especially overseas Pakistanis – tohelp Pakistan avert looming water crisis and donate for construction ofdams.

Until last week, Rs 6 billion were deposited in the dam fund, and nowanother billion has come through donations, making the total amount to Rs7,050,213,922. (7.05 billion)

Until Sep 26, the country wise data showed that within Pakistan an amountof Rs 3,928,982,836 (Rs3.97 billion) was collected through bank branches,interbank transfers and mobile phone SMS service. In next three weeks, thefund has witnessed a good amount of collection.
