ISLAMABAD – Pakistan International Airlines engineering wing achieved a bigmilestone in Aircraft maintenance inside Pakistan, private media hadrevealed.
As per media report, Pakistan International Airlines (PIA)’s Engineering &Maintenance department has reached another milestone in the maintenance ofsmall and large aircraft.
The airline has recently announced that their maintenance wing hasdeveloped an in-house facility for repairing Cessna – small aircraftprimarily used for flight training and personal use.
PIA’s maintenance department said that they are now capable of indigenouslyfixing large planes with a maximum take-off weight of 570 kgs. The upgradecapability will not only reduce the grounding time of an aircraft but willalso save millions of dollars in optimization cost.
The maintenance facility will now be utilized at the flying trainingacademies and PIA Benazir Bhutto Flight Academy.
