ISLAMABAD – Prime Minister Imran Khan has impressed upon the UN to preventthe impending genocide that is likely to take place in Occupied Kashmir.
He was talking to UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres during a meeting atUN Headquarters in New York.
The Prime Minister said eight million Kashmiris have been put under curfewfor the last 55 days. He expressed fear that when curfew is lifted therewill be bloodshed in the held valley because of the presence of 900,000Indian troops stationed there.
Imran Khan said it is easier to prevent a crisis early, but it becomes muchmore difficult when the crisis is fully blown due to limited options atdisposal.
UN Secretary General said he can testify that people of Pakistan haveremarkable level of solidarity. Pakistan has largest number of refugees andthey are always accepted as brothers and sisters.
Appreciating the role of Pakistani peacekeepers in the UN, Antonio Guterressaid they are serving all over the world and even sacrificing their livesfor protection of civilians in conflict areas.
