Saudi Arabia gives grant to Pakistan for three projects

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan and Saudi Arabia on Thursday signed three MoUs to grantprojects of health and education sectors in Azad Jammu and Kashmir andKhyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Secretary Economic Affairs Division and Chief Executive Officer Saudi Fundfor Development signed on behalf of their respective governments.

The MoUs were signed during a meeting of Saudi delegation led by Ahmad AgilF. Al-Khateeb, Chairman, Saudi Fund for Development (SFD) with FinanceMinister Asad Umar here, said a statement issued here.

Al-Khateeb headed a six-member Saudi delegation that included seniorofficials of SFD. The Ambassador of Saudi Arabia to Pakistan, Nawaf SaeedAl-Malkiy was also present during the meeting.

Finance Minister discussed with the delegation matters relating tostrengthening bilateral economic ties between the two brotherly countries.

The ongoing and pipeline projects of Saudi Fund for Development also cameunder discussion with a view to accelerate the pace of theirimplementation. Finance Minister appreciated the role of Saudi DevelopmentFund as a development partner of the Government of Pakistan. – APP
