NEW YORK – Pakistan Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi held an importantmeeting with the US new envoy to Afghanistan Zalmay Khalilzad.
Pakistan believes peace in Afghanistan is directly and positively relatedto long lasting stability in Islamabad, foreign minister Shah MehmoodQureshi told the United States’ new adviser on Kabul, Zalmay Khalilzad, onThursday night during a meeting.
The former US diplomat, who was reappointed to the US State Department asan adviser earlier this month, was accompanied by Ambassador Alice Wells,the senior bureau official for South and Central Asian Affairs at theSecretary Mike Pompeo-led office.
