ISLAMABAD – The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Monday reserved a verdict ona petition filed by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khanagainst his conviction and sentence handed down by Additional District andSessions Judge (ADSJ) Humayun Dilawar in the Toshakhana case.
A two-member bench, comprising Chief Justice Aamer Farooq and Justice TariqMehmood Jahangiri, heard the petition. The PTI chief was represented bysenior lawyer Latif Khosa while Election Commission of Pakistan’s lawyer,Amjad Parvez, presented his arguments in the case.
After hearing arguments, the court reserved the verdict, which will beannounced at 11am tomorrow.
Earlier, the court adjourned the hearing till today and ordered the ECPcounsel to present arguments. PTI lawyer, Latif Khosa, finished hisarguments in the last hearing.
Earlier this month, a trial court convicted the former cricket star in thecase filed by the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) that involvedhiding details of state gifts and sentenced him to three years in jail.
Imran subsequently filed an appeal in the high court against his convictionand also approached the Supreme Court against the IHC’s decision to sendthe case back to the trial court judge who had convicted him.
