Battle for the throne of Lahore: PTI claims the number

LAHORE: Both Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and Pakistan MuslimLeague-Nawaz (PML-N) have speedup efforts to make a government in Punjabprovince and started contacts with elected independent candidates to gaintheir support.

PML-N secured 127 seats and PTI took 123 seats from Punjab in the recentlyheld elections in Pakistan however both the parties started contact withthe independent members to achieve the required 149 targets of members inthe assembly to form the government.

The political analysts said that the support of independent candidates willbe a turning point.Earlier, a meeting of the PTI leadership was held at Bani Gala with partychairman Imran Khan in chair during which, the party leadership assuredImran Khan of having complete numbers to form government in center.

The PTI has secured 116 seats in the National Assembly while PakistanMuslim League-Quaid (PML-Q), Awami Muslim League (AML), BNP and BalochistanAwami Party (BAP) likely to support PTI after which it would get support ofmore than 140 members.

According to the data shared by the election commission of Pakistan, PML-Nhas taken 64 seats in NA, PPP 43, independents candidates 14, MuttahidaMajlis-e-Amal 11, MQM 6, Pakistan Muslim League-Q 5 and two each byBalochistan National Party and the Grand Democratic Alliance.

On Wednesday, millions of Pakistanis voted to elect a new government andprime minister in a peaceful elections held in free, fair and transparentmanner.
