OKARA – Pakistan Peoples Party’s (PPP) election drive in Punjab suffered amajor blow as influential Wattoo family parted ways with Bilawal-led partyand joined ranks of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).

As per details acquired, PTI has issued tickets to Khurram Wattoo andRobina Shaheen to contest elections from NA-186 for seat in lower house ofparliament and PP-185 for seat in Punjab Assembly respectively.

Sources privy to Wattoo family told our correspondent that Mian ManzoorAhmad Wattoo will contest elections under independent capacity from NA-144and in an apparent seat adjustment, PTI will not field candidate in theaforementioned constituency.

On the other hand, the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has forwardedlists of election symbols to returning officers (ROs). Sources say theelectoral body has forwarded two lists, one bearing as much as 107 symbolsfor political outfits whereas other bearing as much as 225 symbols forindependent candidates.
