Pakistan faces acute water shortfall

The Indus River System Authority has called an emergency meeting in thewake of acute water deficit believed to be touching a shortfall of 35%.

According to sources, IRSA later on Friday called an emergency meetinglink to review the scarcity of water thatwas about to hit an alarming link 35%shortfall.

Irsa link Chairman Rao Irshad will presideover the meeting link.

Sources said the meeting link was likelyto cut down the water share of provinces. Punjab and Sindh cut would bearound 23%, sources added.

Currently, Punjab is receiving 90,000 cusecs of water and Sindh’s share is84,000 cusecs water.
