IHC CJ for action against police officers for arresting underage boys

ISLAMABAD: Islamabad High Court (IHC) Chief Justice (CJ) Athar Minallah Monday expressed displeasure over the arrest of two underage boys and directed the senior superintendent of police to initiate departmental action against the responsible police officers.

During the hearing, the petitioner woman informed the bench that two underage boys Ali Sher 12 and Hamza 14 had been arrested by police in a theft case allegedly done by their elder brother.

The Golra Police were threatening to the whole family members.

“How dared the police to keep boys into their custody for 15 days without any reason,” chief justice said while hearing the case.

It was a criminal act to arrest the underage, he said.

Why not a first information report (FIR) had been registered against station house officer Police Station Golra and investigation officer so far, the chief justice asked the police officials.

The bench directed the police to produce the kids before the court on Tuesday and issued directives for legal action against responsible police officials.
