ISLAMABAD: The Council of Common Interests has decided to constitute a committee to look into the issues of availability of water and its distribution in the country.
The decision was taken at a meeting of the Council in Islamabad, with Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi in the chair.
The committee will be headed by Attorney General of Pakistan and comprise one representative from each province.
The committee will present its recommendations in the next meeting of the Council of Common Interests.
A detailed presentation was given by the Ministry of Water Resources on availability of water in the country and its distribution among various provinces as per the Water Apportionment Accord 1991.
