BEIJING – UN General Assembly President Maria Fernanda Espinosa Garces hasappreciated Belt and Road Initiative as an example of effectiveinternational cooperation for sustainable development.
In an interview, Espinosa said BRI also provides a powerful platform foreconomic growth and large-scale regional cooperation which is necessary toachieve Sustainable Development Goals.
Speaking of its contribution to Paris Agreement, Espinosa said that alow-carbon and ‘green’ BRI could also make a vital contribution towardsenvironmental and climate change targets of the 2030 Agenda.
