Pakistan Foreign Office announces to accepts agreement with Afghan sides

Foreign Office of Pakistan, on Sunday announced to accept the agreementwith Afghan sides to maintain mutual ties of friendship and collaborationwith Afghanistan and ascertain the continuation of the peace-processbetween two countries.

The spokesman said that there is no military solution to the Afghanconflict and the Doha agreement has provided a historic opportunity for adurable political solution to it.

The withdrawal of the US Army from Afghanistan should be in a responsibleand organized manner in order to avoid a vacuum, the foreign office said.

It is pertinent to mention here that Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshialso reiterated that Pakistan will continue playing a reconciliatory rolein the Afghan peace process.

During a telephonic conversation with his Afghan counterpart Hanif Atmar onMarch 20, FM Qureshi underlined that the Intra-Afghan negotiations provideda historic opportunity to achieve an inclusive, broad-based andcomprehensive political settlement in Afghanistan.

He urged Afghan parties to work constructively for the shared objective ofa stable and peaceful Afghanistan. FM Qureshi underscored the need toremain cognizant of the challenges and impediments on the way, which couldbe overcome through patience, perseverance and persistence.

He emphasized the role-play of the country to co-operate and facilitatemutual countries while highlighting keeping view of the elements which playaround as “spoilers” in continuing friendly ties.
