Ireland all set to open first nude beach

IRELAND – Ireland is all set to open its first nude-friendly beach. HawkCliff, in Dalkey, will reportedly undergo a nudist makeover.

Public notices are already being placed around the area near the beach, bythe Dun Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council, reported The Independent.

There will also be signs–which are expected to go up next month–at thearea, which will alert people about the likelihood of seeing naked men andwomen on the beach.

The signs will read, ”nude bathers may be seen beyond this point,” IrishNaturist Association(INA) chief Pat Gallagher told the Irish Sun.

Recently, Ireland underwent an amendment of their law on nudity. Section 18of the Criminal Law Amendment Act 1935 had earlier stated, ”Every personwho shall commit, at or near and in sight of any place along which thepublic habitually pass as of right or by permission, any act in such a wayas to offend modesty or cause scandal or injure the morals of the communityshall be guilty of an offence.”

The law was, however, declared unconstitutional by Ireland’s High Court in2014, and is now null and void, mentioned irishnaturism.org.
