Pakistan and Afghan officials meet to discuss various important matters

Senior officials of Commerce ministries of Pakistan and Afghanistan meet atTorkham today [Monday] to discuss various important matters related tosmooth movement of people and patients across the border.

Adviser to the Prime Minister on Commerce and Industry Abdul Razak Dawoodwill lead the Pakistan side while the Afghan side will be led by itsCommerce Minister.

According to a press release issued in Islamabad, the two sides willdiscuss issuance of temporary admission documents, increase in timings ofborder crossing points and establishment of joint border infrastructure.

They will also discuss training of Afghan nominees for trade and smoothcrossing of humanitarian assistance to Afghanistan.

Time frame for reinitiating the stalled Torkham-Jalalabad road project andstart of Peshawar-Jalalabad and Quetta-Kandhar luxury bus service are alsopart of the discussion.
