NEW DELHI – India is ready to go ahead with the March 14 meeting withPakistan to finalise the modalities of the Kartarpur corridor, sources saidon Thursday amid tense bilateral ties between the two neighbours.
India and Pakistan were scheduled to meet on March 14 to finalise themodalities of the much-awaited corridor, particularly its coordinates, butthe Pulwama attack and the escalating tensions in the last few days raisedserious doubts about the possibility of the meet, Hindustan Times hasreported.
Sources said India is ready for the discussion on the Kartarpur issue asit affects a sizeable number of Indians. The proposal for talks came fromthe Pakistani side and was accepted by India, they added.
The proposed corridor will provide easy access to Sikh pilgrims to GuruNanak’s final resting place Gurdwara Darbar Sahib at Kartarpur inPakistan’s Punjab province.
