KABUL – Afghan Intelligence Agency NDS claimed to be behind assassinationsand Killings in capital Kabul by Hasib Quwai Markaz, a man who has been onthe wanted list of the Ministry of Interior Affairs.
In a social media video posted on Monday claims that the country’sintelligence apparatus – the National Directorate of Security (NDS) – isinvolved in targeted killings in Kabul and that he was asked by the agencyto kill six influential figures, TOLO News reported.
In the video, he names a number of NDS officials who, he alleges, asked himto kill Gul Haidar, a former mujahideen leader, and Wakil Ahmad Moutawakel,the former Taliban regime’s foreign minister, among others.
“They handed to me a list of six people, including commander Gul HaidarKhan, Abdul Hamid Khurasani and Mr. Mawlawi Moutawakel, for me to killthem, and they would reward me with Afs2.5 million ($32,000),” Hasib said.
The NDS has not commented on this claim, but the Ministry of Interiorrejected the allegations as baseless.
“He (Hasib Quwai Markaz) is accused of murder, theft and extortion. The newPanjshir police chief has been directed to arrest him as soon as possible,”the Interior Ministry spokesman Nusrat Rahimi said.
Some lawyers said the matter should be investigated.
