PM Imran Khan holds important meeting of the Federal cabinet, Key decisions taken

ISLAMABAD – Prime Minister Imran Khan has vowed to tackle profiteers andhoarders with iron hands who are responsible for bringing inflation in thecountry.

Briefing media on cabinet meeting in Islamabad on Tuesday, SpecialAssistant to Prime Minister on Information and Broadcasting Dr. FirdousAshiq Awan said at the outset of the meeting the Prime Minister vowed totake every step to provide relief to the people who are facing the brunt ofinflation.

Imran Khan also directed Ministry of National Food Security and relatedorganizations take all out measures for supply of edible items to people.The Prime Minister said action will be taken against those responsible forrecent flour crisis in the light of recommendations of investigative report.

The Special Assistant said the cabinet discussed the issue of appointmentof new IG Sindh and it was decided to appoint a person for this top slotwith consultation. Prime Minister directed Sindh Governor to holdconsultation with provincial chief minister regarding names put forth forthe appointment of IG Sindh.

She said the cabinet endorsed the decisions of its previous meeting. Itgave approval to decision of reduction in urea rates to provide relief tothe farmers.

Speaking on the occasion, Federal Minister for Communications Murad Saeedsaid the federal cabinet decided to recover money of undue expendituresfrom former Nawaz Sharif and Asif Ali Zardari within a month. He said ifthey fail to submit the amount to government, legal action will be takenagainst them.

He said the previous governments burdened the country with huge debt asthey plundered national wealth on their personal gains. He said a loan of24,000 billion rupees was taken during the tenures of former Prime MinisterNawaz Sharif and ex-President Asif Ali Zardari.

He said national institutions were pledged to take loans. Murad Saeed saidSharif Brothers had established five camp offices apart from CM Officewhile former President Asif Ali Zardari had three camp offices.

The family installed barbed wire at a cost of 270 million rupees fromnational exchequer at their residence. He said 2753 police personnel werededicated for the security of Sharif family.
