LASHKARGAH: Five Afghan National Army (ANA) soldiers were killed and twoothers wounded in a clash in Greshk district of southern Helmand provinceon Sunday, an official said.
A credible army source told Pajhwok Afghan News the militants stormed asecurity check-post in Daygan area of the district earlier today morning.Seven ANA personnel were killed and another wounded.
The source added the militants had overrun the post but was recaptured withthe arrival reinforcement.
However, Abdul Qadeer Bahadurzai, spokesman for 215th Miwand MilitaryCorps, verified the attack and said five soldiers had been killed and twoothers wounded.
He rejected the check-post was fallen to militants.
On the other hand, six insurgents were killed and two others wounded duringan operation in Nad Ali and Marja districts.
Taliban link> spokesman Qari Yousaf Ahmadconfirmed the Greshk clash and claimed 11 ANA soldiers had been killed andthe check-post was overran by their fighters.
