Romanian Ambassador vow to enhance bilateral ties with Pakistan

ISLAMABAD - Speaker National Assembly Asad Qaiser has said Pakistan and Romania enjoy friendly relations and Islamabad wants to further consolidate the existing ties.

Talking to Romanian Ambassador Nicolae Goia in Islamabad on Wednesday, he said Pak-Romania Parliamentary Friendship Group has been constituted to promote parliamentary relations between the two countries.

The Speaker acknowledged Romanian support in getting GSP Plus status in European Union. He said Pakistan has ample investment opportunities in energy, industry, textile, agriculture, infrastructure, tourism sectors and Romanian investors can take benefits from these opportunities.

While denouncing the incident of desecration of Holy Quran in Norway, he termed it heartbreaking and woeful. He emphasized the need to adopt a comprehensive global action plan to prevent incidents of religious hatred.

Romanian Ambassador said Pakistan and Romania have enormous potential to promote economic and socio-economic cooperation and sustainable partnership between the two countries is essential for the region's stability and to meet global challenges.

He praised Pakistan's efforts in the fight against terrorism.
