The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees will suspend Afghan refugees' repatriation operation from first of next month for a period of three months due to severe cold.
An official of UNHCR told APP that the operation will remain suspended till February 28th next year.
However, he said UNHCR offices in Pakistan will continue to provide counseling, information and assistance to the refugees during the winter break.
He said those refugees who are not able to formally register at authorized points in Pakistan and return without a voluntary repatriation form will not be assisted with cash grants. They will also not have access to Encashment Centres in Afghanistan.
