ISLAMABAD:
Warid telecom and
Mobilink Mobile Phone Companies have decided to merge both companies to combine their businesses in Pakistan. After merging both companies the numbers of customers will be increased to over 4 crores.
Mobilink has bought
Warid Telecom Company and agreement has also been signed in Dubai. A joint press release issued by both companies that combine company will serve over 4 crore customers in Pakistan and it will become the most popular mobile network of Pakistan.
“The transaction is expected to close within six months from today, subject to obtaining approvals from the relevant authorities in Pakistan and the satisfaction of customary closing conditions,” reads the press release.
The merged company’s board will consist of 7 directors. 6 directors will be nominated for
vimplecom and GHT (Mobilink) while one director for Abu- Dhabi group.
Jeffery Hedberg will become the Chief Executive Officer of Combine Company after the successful completion of transaction while Andrew Kemp will become the CFO of Combined Company.
