LONDON: Christians are celebrating Easter Sunday on March 27 in Pakistan and across the world with joy and belief on Jesus Christ’s resurrection.

The day is celebrated with different customs and traditions in different parts of the world. People are sharing bible verses and quotes of famous people on the occasion.

Pope Francis said “To celebrate the Triduum this year, everyone must reflect on God’s infinite mercy from the time of His crucifixion, death and resurrection.”

Christians claimed that belief in resurrection is to believe in God who created the universe and has the power to raise death.

Pakistan's President Mamnoon Hussain and Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif wished the Christian community on this occasion and send them good wishes for celebrating with joy and brotherhood.

PM Nawaz Sharif said “We are determined to work for the uplift and welfare of all the minorities so that they can contribute to the progress and development of the country like their Muslim brethren.”

He said “In these times, the need for unity and interfaith harmony has assumed paramount importance. I am optimistic that with the combined efforts and collective resolve we will defeat the forces of discord that are trying to cause serious harm to the fabric of our society.”
