QUETTA: Mehmood Khan Achakzai, while addressing a press conference, accepted the general elections results and said that the masses had rejected him and his Pakhtunkhwa Mili Awami Party (PMAP).
Achakzai also said that he would cooperate with the incoming government if it took the right steps.
He explained that his forefathers had struggled for democracy in the country.
Earlier on July 25, addressing a press conference, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President Shehbaz Sharif had said that he had received complaints of irregularities from across the country, adding that other parties have also raised similar objections.
“PML-N wholly rejects the results of the general elections due to manifest and massive irregularities,” he added.
The PML-N president alleged, “Form 45 was not given to our agents, results were stopped and votes were counted in the absence of our poll agents.”
Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari had also voiced similar concerns terming the alleged expulsion of party’s polling agents from various polling stations “inexcusable and outrageous”.
