KARACHI – Despite its defeat, the Muttahida Quami Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) has decided not to participate in the all parties conference convened by the Muttahida Majlis-e-Amal (MMA) against alleged rigging in Islamabad.

Talking to the media on Friday, Convener Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui said that the MQM-P will itself fight its case. “

Earlier, he had termed Wednesday’s general elections ‘the worst rigged polls in the history of Pakistan’.

The MQM-P has suffered the greatest defeat of its time. According to the results, it has secured only six National Assembly seats, contrary to its position in the 2013 elections with 17 seats.

Siddiqui demanded an immediate resignation from the chief election commissioner.
