KARACHI (APP): The Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) has formally nominated Provincial Finance Minister Murad Ali Shah for the post of the Chief Minister Sindh.
This was announced by Adviser to Sindh Chief Minister Moula Bakhsh Chandio at a news conference here late on Tuesday night.
Moula Bakhsh Chandio said that the PPP has taken the decision for the replacement of outgoing Chief Minister Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah after detailed consultation, as the party needs an energetic chief minister as it has to prepare for 2018 general election.
The adviser said he was announcing the nomination of Murad Ali Shah at the advice of PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari.
He lauded the services of Qaim Ali Shah for the party and the province, and said there is no doubt about his abilities and services.
Answering a question, he said that the members for the provincial cabinet will also be finalised soon, adding that the cabinet may be announced in phases. However, he said he had no idea about it at the moment, but he said the size of the cabinet will be in conformity with the law and the Constitution.
To another question, he said change of face definitely brings change in policies. He added that Qaim Ali Shah followed party's instructions and Murad Ali Shah will also do the same.
He said that Qaim Ali Shah will tender his resignation tomorrow (Wednesday).
