Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and his French counterpart Emmanuel Macron telephonically discussed the latest developments in Syria today.
The French President stressed the need for a ceasefire in Syria's Afrin region, arguing that a call by the U.N. Security Council for a ceasefire across Syria, also applies to Afrin.
Erdogan told Macron that utmost importance is being given to avoid harming any civilians during the operation against the Kurdish militants.
