In a first, Punjab government to distribute 10,000 Health Insurance Cards

LAHORE - A high level meeting of the Minister Delivery Unit of the Punjab Health Department, chaired by Health Minister Dr. Yasmin Rashid, was held in Lahore on Thursday.

The development projects and reforms process in the health department throughout the province was thoroughly reviewed in the meeting.

Addressing the meeting, the Minister said that all arrangements has been completed for the distribution of ten thousand health Insurance cards among the needy in the various districts of the Punjab in next month.

Referring to the recent recruitment of the doctors through the Public Service Commission, she said that 2717 women medical officers have been appointed in the various cities of the Punjab within stipulated timeframe, while 3620 male medical officers will also be appointed this week.

She said that a requisition has also been dispatched to the Public Service Commission for the recruitment of 588 pharmacists. She said that revamping of the nine teshil and district headquarters hospitals have been completed.
