ISLAMABAD - As the efforts are ongoing for the Afghan peace process at national and international levels, Pakistan’s Ambassador to Kabul Zahid Nasrullah Khan, who addressed a ceremony in Kabul on Friday, said he hopes that Afghanistan will witness enduring peace and stability in the near future and that the Afghan youth will have an important role in this process.

The Pakistani envoy emphasized that Kabul-Islamabad relations should improve.

“Inshallah, very soon, Afghanistan will experience enduring peace and stability and in the post-peace Afghanistan, your (the Afghan youths) role will be very crucial,” Khan said as he addressed a gathering of Afghan students who will attend a scholarship program in Pakistan.

The Afghan students, whose number reaches to 800, will head to Pakistan for higher education.

The students said the ongoing war in Afghanistan should come to an end and that the achievements of the past 17 years should be retained during the peace process.

“This scholarship provided by Pakistan is good for improving relationships and friendship between the two countries,” said Zarifa Ahmadi, an Afghan student.
