KAGHAN: National Highway Authority (NHA) on Thursday opened Kaghan Naran road after five months as the thoroughfare has been cleared of glaciers.
Usually every year Shahrah-e-Kaghan is closed for all sorts of vehicular traffic between November and March when glaciers move downslope and cover the road, but this year the road was blocked for extra period.
Assistant Director NHA Sajjad Khan told media persons that heavy machinery has reached to open Naran to Babusar top section and started the work while NHA is also working on Naran to Challas section to open which was also closed due to land sliding and glaciers.
After opening the Kaghan Naran road, a small number of tourists have also reached Naran valley to enjoy the serene beauty of the nature.It is expected that as heat wave lashes Punjab and Sind province, the tourists will move to Galyat and Naran. (APP)
