RAWALPINDI – Commander Resolute Support Mission in Afghanistan GeneralAustin Scott Miller discussed Afghan peace talks with Pakistan Army ChiefGeneral Qamar Javed Bajwa.

Miller on Thursday called on Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar JavedBajwa at GHQ.

During the meeting, matters of mutual interest with particular reference toregional security and ongoing Afghan reconciliation process were discussed.

Both expressed unanimity of views on the importance of the politicalresolution of the Afghan situation and underlined that only theAfghan-owned and Afghan-led inclusive process can lead to peace inAfghanistan.

They also reaffirmed the need for continuing harmonized efforts againstterrorists and for effective border management.

COAS said that Pakistan is committed to efforts for peace in Afghanistan asit is important for peace in Pakistan.
