In a surprise, Afghan NSA claims defeating ISIS in Afghanistan

KABUL – The Afghan National Security Advisor Dr. Hamdullah Mohib hasclaimed defeating ISIS in Afghanistan.

He has said that the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) terrorist grouphas been defeated in Afghanistan as he informed regarding the growwingcapabilities of the Afghan National Defense and Security Forcescapabilities as compared to the militants and terrorist groups.

Dr. Mohib made the remarks during a meeting with Ali Shamkhani, theSecretary of the National Security Council of Iran, Khaama press hasreported.

Pointing towards the ongoing efforts to revive the Afghan-led peaceprocess, Dr. Mohib said the people of Afghanistan want a lasting peace withdignity as he emphasized that the regional countries should assistAfghanistan in this regard.

He said a national consensus exists regarding peace process in Afghanistanand regional consensus is also needed to bring peace and stability inAfghanistan, a consensus which should be based on government to governmentrelations.
