ISLAMABAD – Speaker National Assembly Asad Qaiser has said Pakistan andRomania enjoy friendly relations and Islamabad wants to further consolidatethe existing ties.
Talking to Romanian Ambassador Nicolae Goia in Islamabad on Wednesday, hesaid Pak-Romania Parliamentary Friendship Group has been constituted topromote parliamentary relations between the two countries.
The Speaker acknowledged Romanian support in getting GSP Plus status inEuropean Union. He said Pakistan has ample investment opportunities inenergy, industry, textile, agriculture, infrastructure, tourism sectors andRomanian investors can take benefits from these opportunities.
While denouncing the incident of desecration of Holy Quran in Norway, hetermed it heartbreaking and woeful. He emphasized the need to adopt acomprehensive global action plan to prevent incidents of religious hatred.
Romanian Ambassador said Pakistan and Romania have enormous potential topromote economic and socio-economic cooperation and sustainable partnershipbetween the two countries is essential for the region’s stability and tomeet global challenges.
He praised Pakistan’s efforts in the fight against terrorism.
