ISLAMABAD -Aitzaz Ahsan makes stunning revelations over the appointment andextension of Army Chief.
It is the prime minister’s right to appoint the army chief, said ChaudhryAitzaz Ahsan. The lawyer and senior leader of the Pakistan People’s Partywas talking to reporters earlier on Wednesday.
“This is a principle of the parliamentary sovereignty,” argued AitzazAhsan, “The court cannot intervene in it.”
The Supreme Court is a respectful institution, but the principle ofparliamentary sovereignty is also supreme, he went on.

“Regardless of whether Prime Minister Imran Khan made the right decision orthe wrong one, It not the right of the judge or anyone else to make thisappointment.”
He added that under Article 48 of the Constitution, the court should not becommenting on how many people voted or did not vote in a cabinet meeting.
