ISLAMABAD – Prime Minister Imran Khan said that the facilitation ofexporters and addressing their problems are among the government’s foremostpriorities.
Advisor on Finance, Abdul Hafeez Sheikh, and Chairman FBR, Shabbar Zaidi,briefed the meeting about the measures regarding the refunds to theexporters.
He directed the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) to clear pending refunds ofexporters and subsequently remove bottlenecks from the new refund paymentsystem of the FBR. Regarding payment of refunds to exporters, the PrimeMinister stressed that it must be ensured that the business communitydoesn’t face any difficulty.
He said that an increase in exports of the country is a very importantobjective as far as improvement of the economy is concerned, adding that inconnection with this, it is of utmost priority to facilitate exporters inevery possible way.

The prime minister referred to the complaints of some business circlesregarding the new system of refunds and said measures should be taken forimmediate redressal of these complaints.
He further said that all facilities must be provided to the businesscommunity in connection with introducing new system in this regard.
